Since we've arrived back on Kwaj I've had the intention of updating the blog.
Between family matters, and work it just hasn't happened.
So this morning Idecided to post a little bit to keep the flow of news/info going.
David gets back from the "kitty litter box" in about 25 days.
HURRY HOME SON! We ALL LOVE & MISS YA!
Sarah is waiting for her fellar to come home!
There have been some minor changes to the trip to Texas/stateside in June .....I've extended a week and will be there for 3 weeks now instead of about 15 days....
Lexy & I arrive in Texas the morning of June 6th.......we have to be in Dallas on June 10th.....for an appointment.....the plan at this time is to fly from Dallas to Huntsville Al.......on the 10th or 11th of June and be there for a few days then back to Dallas and then back to Calvert....lots of work to be done to the place.....fencing mended.......pasture mowed....henhouse put in.......place for Herschy to be prepared...so lots of work and as usual not much time..........Major Diana is back in the states and I guess I should send her this blog and give her a call to tell her all the family news.....she's "retiring" from the military!
Lexy is waking up so guess I should close and go and make some coffee for my lovely wifey!
Love to all!

Sandy&Windy West Texas
We are getting ready to leave tomorrow so not a big surprise to get some WIND and SAND from the south the last couple of days.....wind speeds yesterday around 45 mph....today not so bad around 30 mph....but SURPRISE....high today of 90 degrees....tomorrow the high is supposed to be around 50......only in TEXAS!!
Looking forward to the flight back to Kwaj....received an email from Amy & Mark who are returning from their honeymoon and we'll be meeting up w/ them in Houston as they are scheduled to be on the flight to Hono and on to Kwaj with us as well...they too have had some "different" weather being in the Netherlands for the last month for their honeymoon.....
All in all the trip to the panhandle has been OK just wish it had been for different circumstances....the loss of Larry will be felt in this family for some time.....
When we get back to Kwaj Lexy will only have about 48 days left before she PCS's back to Texas.....I'll be returning with her for a bit to mend some fences and tote her to some Dr visits....then back to Kwaj....Hope all are well!

Texas,Bluebonnets and a snake!
Ok all...we're currently in Texas due to a death in the family and we'll be leaving for Kwaj on the 17th of April and arriving on Kwaj on the 19th of April.
The family is coming to grips with the loss of our father/grandfather/father in law ....it was a sad time but there were many stories shared by all the members of the family....some amusing....some HILARIOUS....but all showed the love and compassion that he instilled and or taught/gave to each of us.
I decided to drive down to Calvert from Lubbock to prepare things for Lexy's "homecoming/PCS" in early June.....mowed the yard and when about 1/2 through w/ mowing decided to go into the house for a drink....as I walked up on the Porch(forgot to mention I left the DOOR OPEN) and a small copperhead was laying on the ledge just below the doorway....had he not moved a little I'd likely be writing this from the hospital as copperheads are rather ill-tempered lil snakes!
I reached over to the left of the door and got the hoe and gently pulled the door shut so he couldn't go into the house.....then I chopped his head off w/ the hoe!
So ...looks like we'll be getting a few peafowl and guineas and chickens as soon as we get back to "reduce" the likelihood of "snake" encounters!
The pasture needs mowning and the fence needs some work so I'll be busy for the 2 weeks we'll be (me) in Texas when Lexy PCS's from Kwaj in June.
Take Care....more will likely be posted from Hawaii....
